A "Champagne" Toast

. . . Coyote, Kitty Litter & The Champagne of Beers

I spent most of the week recovering. Steroids were SUCH a blast! I think I even got a little look-see into the mind of a professional wrestler. But, well on the mend, I started thinking about the weekend. What to do? What to do? Take it easy . . . that's what.

On Friday night I ventured out to spend an hour or two backstage. Jupiter Coyote was amazing! Now, I must say that this was probably the first time I had seen them with a fully legit, 33 year old, legal ID. But I was really glad that I decided to venture out. I mean, otherwise I would have missed the entire derriere tattoo baring and hair swapping. You'll have to ask me about that the next time I see you. Hoo!

On Saturday, I made a Kitty Litter Cake and headed over to Miss J's (Jessica Walden) for the HBO Premier of Grey Gardens, the movie. It was exquisite! Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange portrayed Little and Big Edie (respectively) with all the heart and soul that we could have ever begged of them. And the movie brought the entire story right into the room with us.

Sadly, I wasn't completely back to my old self. So I skipped the Revolutionary Costume portion of the competition. However, ma-girls OUTDID themselves. And Jerry (Shuga) made sure we didn't miss even a moment. We were waited on hand and foot. I may or may not have stayed out past the pumpkin '-) - but it was entirely too much fun! Okay so I did - but it was worth it. I had my Kitty Litter Cake and ate it too.

On Sunday I cuddled up on a blanket for Second (Ooops - Third) Sunday Brunch. The Music, Friends & Spread were beyond sublime. I even came up with a new signature cocktail!

I had packed my picnic basket full of leftover Grey Gardens Miller High Life (Big & Little Edie's beverage of choice) and was a wee bit (although, honestly I must admit, not that much) timid to sip a tall boy in front of the Sunday crowd. So I was trying to be inconspicuous when Mr. Esser wondered, aloud, what sort of Mimosa the "Champagne of Beers" might make. Never one to frown upon experimentation . . . I gave it a whirl.

Well Hells Bells whaddya know? IT WAS PERFECTION in a plastic cup. That's right. It'll be on the menu for my next I-Don't-Even-Know-What kinda party. But I do know that it will be served by English Butler-esque waiters just for the scream of it.

If it sounds as if I am overstating the weekend in any way . . . I'll have to remind you that absence of pain equals pure bliss without even leaving the house. So this week I'm Toasting to one of my favorite things - the little things!
