. . . I Could Just Go-Go On On
The past couple of weeks have just absolutely been the most incredible blur!
The Rotary Picnic at Walnut Creek was heaven. We had chicken and steak, Sea Island cornbread, raw oysters, Brother's artfully delicious salad, and (my new obsession) OYSTER SHOOTERS! Even typing about it makes me want more.
Billy Joe was divine, Jazz Under The Stars was an all-night-all-out affair, Steve Balderson made my heart melt when I told him goodbye, and Nashville Portraits are a DO-NOT-FOR-ANY-REASON dare miss.
My weekend in Tybee was unbelievable. I was soaking wet and lovin' it at the Beach Bum Parade. Toddies were sipped at the Wilmington Island Club where "the buzz" is all about Daddy & Marcia's new neighbor - Paula Dean. Coolers were on the beach, Black Eyed Susans were passed over Doc's Bar where I fell in love with Calvin Borel all over again, and Crispy Scored Flounder was served up at AJ's under the prettiest sunset you'll ever see.
Susan McDuffie hosted a cocktail party for those of us who were so flattered as to be described as both young and fabulous! Our hostess was as lovely as her new home, the hors d'eouvres were amazing, and I made such precious new friends and had such a darling time that it pained me to say goodbye. I think that the Macon Symphony is definitely putting it's finger on the right pulse. And I can't wait to see what's in store.
The Toast that I am most excited to make, goes to the youngest, most fabulous, girl that I know . . . Tinsley Martha Loyd! Leigh and Josh welcomed the dark haired, blue eyed darling into their loving arms. I cried more than Tinsley did - just call this waterworks "Old Faithful." And she's just perfect. Period.
Pretty soon I'll be back in New York! My escape has been planned, my snow globe is being shaken, my bags aren't even packed, and I still don't know where I'm going to stay. But just knowing that I'll be there soon makes me tingle and shiver! Perhaps I'll pull a "Claudia Kincaid" and stay in my favorite place of all. I know one thing for certain, there are definitely some cottage fries, skinnies and cupcakes in my future.
When things are this good, I start to wonder if life could be any sweeter. I pinch myself and I watch time sprout little wings and fly away. I mean - I know they say that when it rains, it pours but . . .

Well I am in love with my life. And something tells me that we've only just begun!

We can make it happen! Let me know what you'd like to hear from "The Bird" . . . just send me "the word" - thebirdemail@cox.net
