April Showers

. . . 'Cause Tonight For The First Time

That's right ladies, it'z rrr-rainin' men! So don't be afraid to go on out in the front yard in your housecoat and get "absolutely soakin' wet." Yes, that's right . . . I'm a thirty-something year old grown-up real live woman who still plays in the rain. You should try it some time.

What you can't afford to miss out on is The Full Monty. Where do I begin? Swooooon! Oh yes - Baxter James. Precious Baxter James will make you weak in the knees. You can't get more handsome and strapping than Tom Morris. David Lintz broke my heart with a struggle that I could feel in my bones. And show-stealing moments from Mark Brooker and Jackie McNair will bring you out of your seat.

I can't even begin to tell you (without tears) how smitten I was with Molly Stevens, Katy Thompson and Gail Johnson for giving us a peek at three women whose courage, empathy and spirit speak to the heart of Real Live Women everywhere. Mine is flat out swollen with pride.

Jim Darling, you are such a treasure . . . the likes of which I have never seen before. Ladies & Gentleman, DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!

And, as it would turn out, the show set the tone for my week and rain it did. I came home to a note on my door from my friend Wesley (a real "Bert Dasher") who never tires of telling me how beautiful and talented I am. He's also the dear who scanned slides of my artwork onto disk for me, so take a look if you feel the itch - we're on facebook now.

I know you would have gotten a kick to see the scene that ensued when the concrete crew in the parking lot at the office was cat-calling "oh yeah, I know what to do with that" and "I can spank that (a double s) for you baby you know I can" after me. Followed by my holding back Josh & Matt (who had been observing behind the tinted glass) from racing out there to defend my honor. I'm tellin' ya . . . Izzzz rainin' men.

The storm let up a bit for Tabitha Walker's birthday. The ladies far outnumbered the men and were in full force for a Mexican Fiesta and a bit of bowling at Ten Pin Alley. Ten Pin Alley, where (by the way) I bowled my very first strike, is a "do not pass go, do not collect two hundred . . . " you get the idea. I just loved it to pieces and they only keep one of your shoes behind the counter so I was getting this whole Cinderella vibe when our game was over.

Last but certainly not least, you just have to check out Thai Kitchen in Warner Robins. If I am willing to drive there . . . you know it's good! I've been a bit sickly and without much of an appetite lately so I was willing to try anything. This shack hit the spot and I ate like it was my very first meal. The Tom Kha, the dumplings, the Pad Se-iew, oh my heavens THE SWEET . . . STICKY . . . . RICE - - WITH PAPAYA. Ease on down there and "get you some."

I'll be right here. Biding my time, waiting (ever so reluctantly) for the storm to pass, and taking meticulous notes on EVERY minute of it!
