Belle Voyage: The Stars Fell On Alabama

a
Mobile was an afterthought.  A one night stand on the way to New Orleans for New Year’s Eve.  A convenient distraction.  A quickie.
a
However, as it is with most love stories, a handsome stranger with kind eyes changed all of that with four little words ... “wanna prank my Dad?”
a
And so it is, that with the skip of a heartbeat, I was ready to write my own love letter to “Mo-town.”
a
Toast of the Town’s Mobile, Alabama Bucket List
a
(And links to some of my favorite new places, and my favorite pieces from my
favorite new magazine.  Plus, for good measure, a vintage Toast or two
for our new readers: 1,000+ just last week!)
a
1.  Add another jewel to my cookbook collection.
a
2.  Karaoke!  “Baby let’s cruise. Away from here!”  Sing a duet with The OK Bicycle Shop’s Clay ... on a boat Bitch.
a
3.  Food Crawl!  Participate in a Mobile, Alabama food crawl & April Fool’s Day strategy summit with Mister Kind Eyes.  Activities must include eating this (Bacon Cheesecake), and topping this! (Best April Fool's EVER)
a
4.  Treasure Hunt!  Argh!!!  Sing the Blue(beard)s & Plunder Mobile Bay with "A Model Pirate."
a
5.  Smell the roses at a Page & Pallet Curated dinner party with a host of local writers.
a
6.  Cheese!  Engage in a cheeky photo shoot with local statues!
a
7.  Steel Azaleas Night Out!  Paint the town and have a doggone good time!
a
8.  Skinny Dip at Trader's.  Did I stutter?
a
9.  Get into a pickle.  May or may not include the phrase “the horse you rode in on” ... just because I've always wanted to say it.
a
10.  Trivial Pursuit!  Just because.  Goodness I love that game.
a
11.  Four lil’ words: footsie under the table.  Preferably with the eligible victor of number 10.  Power to this redhead!
a
12.  Plan my text trip to Mobile :)

So here's a TOAST to Callaghan's Irish Social Club,
the Belle of our Ball!

There are good ships, and there are wood ships,
the ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships, are friendships,
And may they always be.
