Doctor Turvy's Quixotic Apothecary: A Double Feature & A Triple Threat

Doctor Turvy was an ethereal citizen of an ethereal world.  In the beginning, he existed only for Blix, but long before the end, he existed for everybody who worked with Blix or knew him well.  Although Doctor Turvy’s prescriptions indicated that he put his trust in a wine list rather than a pharmacopoeia, he had two qualities of special excellence in a physician; his diagnosis was always arrived at in a split second – and he held the complete confidence of his patient.”

Rx: Triple Threat Pralines, Peaches & Cream

What's a confirmed bachelorette to do with a big ol' bag of fruit?  Well ... this Georgia Peach recommends you get 'em inside and fix 'em a drink.

1 Cup of Fresh, Diced, Georgia Peaches
1 Cup of Great Bourbon (The Pappy makes me Happy!)
1 Bourbon Vanilla Bean
2 Cups of Buttermilk
2 Cups of Whole Milk
1 Cup of Sugar
Pinch of Salt
1 Cup Crushed Bourbon Praline Pecans

Marinate the peaches in the bourbon overnight - or two.

Combine milk, buttermilk, sugar and salt until dissolved, add vanilla bean seeds & pod, and chill overnight.

Remove pods, pour milk mixture into ice cream churn and churn according to directions.  In the last five minutes, add the peaches (drain off excess liquid) and praline pecans.  Scoop into an interesting container & put in the freezer to set.

Discuss: In The Art of Weightlessness doc, James Galanos describes meeting Rucci.

"And so the minute we met, in the afternoon - within five minutes I thought I knew him for a thousand years.  It was . . . . . . something.  The two of us understood each other.  We - - we became friends.  And so I've been following him.  I say that's my career now is following Mr. Rucci."

Have you ever experienced this sort of immediate intimacy with another person?  If so . . .
