You Name It . . . We Got it!

. . . Dog Hair & A Kitchen Sink Full Of F-U-N

I selected a fine ($4.98 worth of fine) pink champagne for the Weenie Roast & Cheap Champagne Toast and arrived early enough to secure some Rock Star parking action. And then . . . in the blink of an eye . . . there were over a hundred people in the house, not a wiener to be found, and I was having an absolute ball! Cheers, Miss Jessica Walden. Your party was a brilliant success – you are the first Toast of 2009.

The second Toast . . . is to me. After a night of great conversation, a wicked round of Catch Phrase (pulling “Brave New World” & “Sanitary Disposal” out of my “you know what”), finally meeting a rumored beau for the VERY FIRST time, a thousand laughs, more than a few solo cups of champagne and one roasted weenie – I was in need of a little dog hair. Wink Wink. If you get my drift.

So I made something for Miss J that would supply the necessary replenishment. My famous kitchen sink Bloody Mary recipe made its debut in Waldenville to rave reviews. So I decided to share it with all of you . . .

In a very tall glass, combine as much ice as you can with the following ingredients:

Vodka, One third of a glass full

Fresh lemon juice, couple squeezes

Fresh lime juice, couple squeezes

4-6 shots of Tabasco

5 shots of Worcestershire Sauce

2 spicy beans & 2 olives

A tad bit of the jar juice from each

A few shakes of Tony Chachere’s

Salt & Pepper

A tinch of horse radish

A splash of cheap beer

& tomato juice

Shake very well and garnish with salt rimming and celery. Sit on the back porch, chat, sip, and plan a trip to New Orleans.

While in New Orleans, stop by F&M Patio bar where I learned this fine art from one of the most adorable bartenders I’ve ever known. I'm quite sure that he won't still be there . . . but Tulane will have sent his replacement many times over. The cheese fries are heaven as well.

I don't miss being a bartender but I do miss being a college student. And I love the idea that this new year might just be the best yet.

I'll let ya know from time to time ;-)
